   Under the direction of the Front Desk Manager, the tot room attendant duties include supervising activities with children 6 months to 9 years during parent’s workout (1-2 hour maximum).  Staff not responsible for feeding or diaper changing (parent is responsible if necessary and will be contacted). Requires high customer contact both in person and on the phone.

   Requirements:
   Ability to positively interact with the general public
   Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate skills in First Aid and Infant/Child CPR 
   Ability to work under minimal supervision
   Ability to communicate effectively 
    A
   bility to act quickly and remain calm in emergency situations 
   An understanding of tot room rules, policies and procedures
   L
   eadership and public relation skills
   Decision making skills
   Must be available and flexible to work various hours during the week and weekend
   Pre-employment drug testing and background check required 
   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Supervises up to 8 children between the ages of 6 months and 9 years old 
    Make daily safety checks of tot room and pass concerns on to his/her supervisor
    Daily cleaning of room, including toys and playing surfaces
    Prevents accidents through enforcement of policies, rules and regulations governing the conduct of staff and patrons using the tot room and the surrounding area
    Represents the Westlake Recreation Center in a positive, professional manner to the community
    Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those members and potential members contacted in the course of a work day 
    Submits available and unavailable working days in a timely manner to supervisor
    Responsible to: Front Desk Manager
    
   
   Qualifications:
   Must be at least 16 years old
   Current certifications in First Aid and Infant/child CPR
   Previous child care experience required
