$34,072.80-$47,360.80 Annual
Starting Salary: $34,072.80 / $16.38/hr.
Pay Grade Z-14
Non-Exempt / Non-Mandatory Testing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED. Experience operating a switchboard and/or radio communications system preferred. Knowledge of modern office procedures and practices with demonstrated keyboard proficiency. Ability to communicate effectively using a clear speaking voice and good telephone etiquette. Must have the ability to maintain and submit accurate reports, get along well with others, and handle emergencies without excitement or panic. Applicants must be dependable, trustworthy and in good physical condition. Shift work required.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Performs the duties of a 9-1-1 operator by operating a switchboard and radio communications system. Answers phones, operates police computer systems, dispatches police and fire units, prepares reports, maintains radio logs, and performs related duties as required.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
The selected candidate will have a background check, drug screen and physical exam completed before employment. Specific entrance examinations and testing may be required. Possession of a current valid State of Florida driver license is also required before employment.

The compensation package will start at the base salary range and may vary based on proven abilities of the individual selected. The City of Zephyrhills has an excellent benefit package, which includes medical, dental, life insurance, and Florida Retirement System (FRS).
