Support Assistant
The United City of Yorkville is accepting applications for the position of Support Assistant.
Under the direction of the Assistant City Administrator, the Support Assistant position is to be the initial point of contact with the general public, specifically receiving and greeting in-person visitors; filing and record organization; answering/routing in-bound calls; sorting/delivering mail/packages to appropriate staff; providing information, written materials and/or issuing equipment (i.e. water meters) to the public. Additional responsibilities may include receipt of fees or deposits payable to the City, the purchase of office supplies budget records, accounts payable, accounts receivable, program registration, rental of facilities; and coding of invoices related to department functions. This position also administers and assists with the operations and activities of the recreation office.
Qualified applicants are expected to be knowledgeable in communication in both oral and written format, proficient in Microsoft Suite programs, and to be familiar with handling cash and credit card procedures. Qualified applicants for this position should have a minimum of two years of office related experience, preferably in a governmental setting, have a high school diploma with college level courses in business or public administration preferred.
Salary
Salary range is $44,000 – $59,000 with starting salary expected to be at $44,000.
