Salary: $15.76 - $17.37

The Position
This individual will contribute to the quality of life for our whole community by performing a variety of labor in areas of maintenance and repair for the Street department. Ensure the safety and cleanliness of City streets and roadways, ensure proper working conditions of equipment and supplies, and perform a variety of equipment operations, maintenance and repair duties. Perfect for the individual who likes a busy, positive work environment and the chance to work outdoors.
Location and Hours
This position is located at the Public Works Facility at 1313 W. 1
st
St. and throughout the City. Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and includes some on-call or weekend hours as needed.
About the Position Type
This position is full-time and benefit-earning. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance as well as leave accrual, holiday pay and participation in a retirement plan.
In this Position, you Will
Operate equipment such as a snowplow, street sweeper, refuse truck, and/or road grader to maintain and
repair streets, parks, turf, buildings and grounds.
Paint street lines, mow right-of-way, perform repairs to streets and curbs, clean and repair storm drainage mains.
Maintain tools and equipment and keeps records of maintenance activities and work completed.
Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move or lift up to 100 pounds.
Preferred Applicant Will Have
Combination of experience/training which demonstrates knowledge and experience to perform the work.
One (1) year of construction or maintenance experience in asphalt roads, concrete work or traffic control, or
Some knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in maintenance, construction, repair activities, solid waste and recyclable collection activities preferred.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Special Requirements
Valid State Driver’s license and CDL certification, or ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of hire. This DOT position is covered by the FMCSA and is subject to all DOT drug testing requirements.
