Resumes are now being accepted by the Orange County Department of Public Works to fill a provisional Senior Engineer vacancy. Civil Service Examination is a requirement for appointment to become permanent. Competitive Examination to be announced at a later date.
The work involves technical and supervisory engineering duties including the design, construction and inspection of engineering projects. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Principal Engineer or Deputy Commissioner with latitude for independent judgment. Supervision is exercised over assigned engineering, highway, and/or buildings construction and maintenance staff. Does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:
(A)
Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Surveying, Construction Technology, Architecture or related field and three (3) years of experience in civil engineering, construction or land surveying; OR
(B)
Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Surveying, Construction Technology, Architecture or related field and five (5) years of experience in civil engineering, construction or land surveying; OR
(C)
Possession of Certification Level 4, related to civil engineering technology, from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
STARTING SALARY
: $37.8832/hour; $68,947.42 annually (35 hours per week)
