The City of Cadillac is accepting applications for Seasonal Workers within the departments of Parks and Utilities. Our seasons runs from May through September in Utilities, and from April through November in Parks. Seasonal positions are limited to six (6) months in duration and splits are permitted in Parks (ex: work April – June and return for September – November).
The City welcomes Seasonal Workers who perform well to return the next year and receive increased hourly pay. Recent high school graduates, college students, retirees and others merely interested in partial year work find our seasonal positions to be the perfect work opportunity.
Parks duties
:
Work is performed outdoors in the city’s parks and cemetery. Most of the work consists of mowing and trimming lawn, trimming bushes, emptying trash receptacles and cleaning public restrooms. In the spring and fall an employee will also spend time blowing and raking leaves. Some painting and light maintenance projects may be assigned. Travel to various worksites throughout the city requires the ability to drive a ½ or ¾ ton work truck while towing a utility trailer. This department works 40 hours/week and includes scheduling on a weekend 1 – 2 times per month.
Utilities duties
:
Work is performed mostly outdoors and consists of mowing and trimming lawn, painting of fire hydrants, assisting full-time staff with preventative maintenance and general cleaning. Travel to various worksites throughout the city requires the ability to drive a ½ or ¾ ton work truck while towing a utility trailer. This department works Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, no weekends.
All positions pay $12.00/hr. A minimum age of 18 is required by the time of hire. An applicant must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. All applicants are subject to a background check, physical and drug test.
