JOB DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Walks in back of refuse truck and collects heavy trash loads from designated routes within the City.
Dumps refuse from trash containers into truck and returns container to original location.
Must practice safety and customer courtesy.
Operates mechanical controls at the rear of truck to crush and compact refuse.
Operates mechanical controls on truck to hoist dumpsters and trash carts for emptying.
Helps in unloading of refuse truck upon arrival at Transfer Station.
Assists in daily cleaning and maintenance of trucks, buildings and grounds.
Performs any other tasks assigned by management.
Subject to emergency call in.
Ability to physically withstand strenuous manual labor.
Ability to lift heavy loads.
Ability to work in all types of weather.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Must possess Ohio Drivers’ License and be insurable under the City’s policy.
Must obtain at least a Class B, Commercial Drivers License within nine (9) months of hire.
Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and driving record check.
PROBATION:
9 months
