   SANITATION ROUTE DRIVER
   CITY OF BRENTWOOD
   PUBLIC WORKS 
   Starting Salary:                  $41,674.01 - 45,538.32                                                                                                       
   This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position offering a comprehensive benefits package including paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, and employee health, dental, life, vision, disability, and retirement insurance programs.  
   JOB DESCRIPTION:
    This position is responsible for driving large sanitation vehicles and lifting heavy items.  Driver will exit and enter truck from an elevated level.  Pick up and carry sanitation waste, recycled goods, yard waste bag of leaves, grass, limbs, and bundles of limbs.  Pickup of some bulk items.  Weekly cleaning and greasing of sanitation truck.  Driver must lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds in a repetitive manner.  Work is performed in various weather conditions from normal to extreme.  Adverse conditions do not excuse completion of assigned route.
    REQUIREMENTS:
    The successful candidate will be able to drive large sanitation vehicles and lift heavy items in a safe and quick manner.  Graduation from a general or technical high school or a GED is required.    Prior sanitation route experience is preferred. A valid Class B (CDL) Missouri operator’s license with air brakes endorsement and insurability with the City’s insurance carrier is required.  Candidates must complete a post-offer fitness for duty test, pre-employment drug screen, background check, and driving record check before being eligible for hire.
