The Town of South Kingstown is accepting applications for the position of Recreation Supervisor in the Department of Parks and Recreation. South Kingstown is an active ocean front community of 30,000 on the beautiful Rhode Island coast. The Recreation Supervisor works under the direction of the Recreation Superintendent and is responsible for the planning, organization, coordination and evaluation of programs offered by the Parks and Recreation Department.
   Specific responsibilities for the Sports and Fitness Programming Recreation Supervisor include planning and coordinating adult and youth athletic leagues (youth basketball, flag football, adult softball, youth and adult tennis, pickelball), drop-in athletics and sport related programs and special athletic events.
   The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation administration or a related field, a minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in a similar position, and 2 years of experience in program development and coordination or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) status is required within 1 year of hire.
   This 40-hour per week, NEA local SKMEA position starts at an hourly rate of $22.30 and upon successful completion of a six-month probation period increases to $22.94 per hour, and includes a full benefit package.
