IDENTIFICATION
Position Title: Recreation Supervisor – Marketing/Special Events
Department: Parks and Recreation
Immediate Supervisor: Superintendent of Operations
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary function of the Program Supervisor –Marketing/Special Events is to oversee the marketing functions of the department, as well as planning, scheduling, organizing, implementing and supervising department special events.

Work Schedule:
Full Time-Primarily weekdays, evenings and weekends dependent upon meetings, programs and special events.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver a safe and excellent customer service experience to our residents, members and patrons.
Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures, suggest changes in current practices when necessary.
Oversee the design, implementation and content for the department’s marketing information on web site, electronic and social media.
Design, produce and distribute the department brochure.
Design, produce and distribute departmental marketing materials; including but not limited to; rental and program informational materials.
Coordinate communications through newsletters, e-mail notices, mailings and facility postings.
Plan, coordinate, market and evaluate department special events; coordinate statistical reports relating to program enrollments and finances.
Manage all contracts pertaining to special events operations.
Prepare and monitor marketing and special events budget including revenues and expenses related to programming, contractual expenditures and supplies.
Promote and procure sponsorships for assignd recreation programs.
Instruct classes as needed; fill in for shift workers when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of recreation programming coordination and trends.
Knowledge of community relations and marketing techniques.
Effective oral and written communication skills; strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite applications and Rec-Trac recreation software.
Ability to interact with and maintain good relations with patrons, public and staff.
Ability to supervise part-time staff.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in the field of Parks and Recreation or related field and/or equivalent work experience and education.
Minimum one year experience years in the Parks and Recreation, programming or rental management.
Certification in American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider and First Aid required within three months of employment.
Professional certification desired.
