IDENTIFICATION
Position Title: Recreation Specialist - Sports
Department: Parks and Recreation
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Parks and Recreation
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary function of the Program Coordinator is to manage the daily operations of the City of Brentwood external facilities. Responsible for planning, scheduling, organizing, and implementing sports programming.

Work Schedule:
Full Time-Primarily weekdays, evenings and weekends dependent upon meetings, programs and special events.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver a safe and excellent customer service experience to our residents, members and patrons.
Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures, suggest changes in current practices when necessary.
Manage daily operations of the City of Brentwood athletic facilities, park pavilions and bandwagon.
Interview, hire, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate bus drivers, sports officials and instructors.
Plan, coordinate, market and evaluate sports programs for the department; coordinate statistical reports relating to program enrollments and finances.
Submit, review and maintain program information in the brochure and recreation software.
Coordinate all facility reservations and formalize and monitor user agreements with outside agencies for use of the athletic facilities, park pavilion and bandwagon.
Prepare and monitor sports budget including revenues and expenses related to staffing, programming, contractual expenditures and supplies.
Oversees the senior transportation program for the department.
Liaison to Brentwood School District officials for working arrangement between field and school usage.
Instruct classes as needed; fill in for shift workers when necessary.
Assist with special events as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of recreation programming coordination and trends.
Ability to lead and supervise staff.
Effective oral and written communication skills; strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite applications and Rec-Trac recreation software.
Knowledge of budgetary and accounting practices.
Ability to interact with and maintain good relations with patrons, public and staff.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in the field of Parks and Recreation or related field and/or equivalent work experience and education.
Minimum one year of experience in the Parks and Recreation, programming or facility management and administration.
Certification in American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider and First Aid required.
Professional certification desired.
