Reporting to the Manager of Recreation, the Recreation Coordinator leads and provides support to continuous improvement projects that allow the Department to deliver exceptional programs and services to the community. This position is also responsible to oversee the Wetaskiwin Transit program, which includes managing related staff and equipment. This position requires the ability to deliver a high level of customer service and deal effectively and courteously with the public, staff, contractors and other external contacts and agencies in processing inquiries and complaints; provide a variety of factual information and related services in a professional manner; be able to work under pressure and function effectively while dealing with contentious matters and difficult customers.

Responsibilities
Lead Department specific projects aimed at enhancing service delivery and finding efficiencies.
Oversee the dispatch and overall operations of the Wetaskiwin Transit program; This includes overseeing staffing, equipment, and operation/capital budgets.
Manage website and social media for the Recreation Department
Lead the development of the annual program guide.
Ability to conduct both quantitative and qualitative analysis to support projects.
Ability to produce written reports and presentations for internal consumption.
Effective communication skills that are clear and effective in both written and verbal form.
A proven track record of completing assignments on-track, on-time, and on-budget.
Gathering and preparing information and statistics as directed.
Conduct research into applicable best practices as required to support projects.
Knowledge and understanding of the principles of recreation service delivery and customer service.
Education and Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Recreation studies or related discipline with a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience or a combination of work experience and education.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a municipality.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge and understanding of recreation service delivery and customer service.
Experience leading a team
Able to work independently and as part of the team
Experience managing projects.
