SUMMARY
The Records Clerk works under the general supervision of their Division Commander and is responsible for managing workflow in the Records Section. They oversee the routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work of their section as well as managing the records and providing administrative support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: (Other duties may be assigned as needed)
Responsible for training data entry clerks and provide backup support when necessary.
Performs audits of records and develops storage, release and destruction procedures for department records.
Performs clerical duties such as answering the telephone, shredding, typing, making copies, faxing, and assisting the public with any general questions.
Receives, logs, maintains and forwards subpoenas to patrol supervisor for service, and receives served subpoenas, logs and returns to District Court Clerk.
Maintains secured cash accounts, transactions, records and receipts.
Perform quality assurance checks of the records unit.
Provides access to reports to the public and collects money for reports.
Provides District Court Clerk and Circuit Court Clerk with copies of arrest reports and docket.
Performs clerical duties such as answering the telephone, shredding, typing, making copies, faxing, and assisting the public with any general questions.
Assist the public with answering questions, making reports, services of the department and directions in or around the city.
Performs criminal records checks and FOI requests as assigned.
Maintains the Felony Warrant Log, Hot Check Log, Citation Log and others.
Maintains general office supplies and department forms. Places orders and re-stocks as needed.
Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.
