Public Safety IT Specialist
City of Mequon, WI

This position is open until filled.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for overall department support of all information technology (IT) systems. Installs and tests workstation operating systems and application software. Troubleshoots PC problems and provides software support to end users. Provides training and technical assistance to Department members. This position also serves as the Police Department Help Desk, providing a single point of contact for all Information Services related problems and inquiries.

Qualifications
Minimum two year degree from accredited business/ technical/trade college in electronics or related field preferred. Any equivalent combination of education and recent experience in network administration that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered and may be substituted for the educational requirements.
Must be able to demonstrate advanced understanding of Microsoft operating systems, Networking configurations and troubleshooting techniques. Understanding of Police emergency IT systems is preferred.
Ability to read and correctly interpret documents such as user manuals, safety rules, department rules, state statues, municipal ordinances, technical documentation policies and procedures. Ability to write reports, manuals and prepare correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to coworkers and supervisors.
Must maintain a valid (regular) Wisconsin Driver’s License.
Salary & Benefits
This position’s current salary range is $56,697 - $76,709. Starting Salary: $56,697 - $66,703 +/- DOQ. An excellent benefits package is also available and includes: health insurance, paid holidays and vacation, and membership in the Wisconsin Retirement System.
