The Town of Belleair is recruiting for The Public Relations Coordinator (PRC) to join our team. The PRC must apply knowledge, skills, and experience in the professional writing, marketing, communications, public relations, and graphic design fields to their daily work. The PRC serves as the Public Information Officer for the Town of Belleair and oversees various functions within Belleair. The PRC works with a high level of independence to lead, analyze, and support communications initiatives and special projects throughout the Town in alignment with the Town’s Strategic Plan. The PRC serves as a member of the Town’s Emergency Management Team. The PRC must have strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills. The PRC will directly report to the Director of Recreation & Community Engagement but will interact and work closely with all departments. Essential functions include:
Communicate to the Town important events, public service announcements, resources, holiday closures, etc.;
Maintain a monthly communications tasks calendar and develop a yearly communications plan;
Monitor and post on multiple social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. on behalf of the Town;
Monitor platforms such as SeeClickFix and NextDoor, and share any pertinent information with applicable director(s) in a timely manner;
Assist with monthly utility inserts;
Create and produce marketing materials such as videos, flyers, and banners for special events;
Provide emergency alerts to residents, Commission, and employees in an efficient and timely manner;
Publish and distribute the Resident Information Guide;
Oversee and maintain digital ADA compliance;
Maintain Town website, directories, and employee business cards;
Maintain press relations;
Manage internal communications, such as the weekly newsletter;
Assist with the coordination and completion of Special Relief Permits;
Attend on-site and off-site events, which may include weekends;
Respond to emergency situations (including outside regular business hours), as needed;
Assure that all Town policies and procedures, as well as Town brand, are adhered to;
Other duties as assigned
