The Town’s Planning and Land Use Services (PLUS) Department seeks a Per Diem Local Building Inspector to perform inspectional and application review services in accordance with 780 CMR and all applicable codes.
Requirements:
The Per Diem Local Building Inspector must meet the minimum requirements of MGL Chapter 143 § 3 and 780 CMR R7, which includes a minimum of 5 years’ experience in supervision of the State Building Code in building construction or design, at least a 2-year undergraduate degree, or some combination thereof relating to construction and design. In addition, a valid Massachusetts driver’s license or the ability to obtain one by start of employment is required. Thorough knowledge of the State Building Code and other related codes are essential. The ability to operate general office equipment and word processing tools including Microsoft word and permitting software are necessary.
This is a part-time non-union position with no benefits. Starting hourly rate is up to $75 per hour. There are no predetermined part-time hours with employment and the employee will be on-call basis only.
