The Town of South Kingstown is seeking an experienced individual for the role of Office Clerk II within the Wastewater Division.  The person in this position, under the supervision of the Wastewater Superintendent, performs varied responsible clerical tasks.  Duties include preparing purchase requisitions, receiving on purchases and entering payroll.  Duties also include keeping department financial records, assisting with preparation of basic reports, processing and reviewing account adjustments, and resolving discrepancies.   
    
   To be considered, candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, and one or more year experience in general office practices with knowledge of personal computers, including Microsoft Office, and data entry, office practices such as typing, accounting, and computers, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Candidates must have basic knowledge of principles, methods, and practices of accounting; cash handling and cash reconciliation procedures; and personal computers including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.  Candidates must also have strong communication skills, and must have the ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships with fellow workers, the public, and others, in a courteous manner.
    
   The starting salary for this part time 15 hour per week, NEARI local SKMEA position is an hourly rate of $23.30 and upon successful completion of a six-month probationary period increases to $24.03.  Consideration will be given to providing a flexible work schedule to the successful applicant.
