The Town of South Kingstown’s Emergency Medical Services Department is conducting a recruitment to establish eligibility lists for full time Paramedic level positions and per diem Paramedic & EMT-C level positions.  The EMS Department currently consists of twenty full time Paramedic providers, several per diem Paramedic and EMT-C providers, and is led by the Chief of EMS.   
    
   The SKEMS Department serves a diverse seaside community of over 30,000 citizens and encompasses 63 square miles.  To be considered for the full time Paramedic positions and per diem Paramedic positions, applicants must have a current Paramedic license with the State of Rhode Island and National Registry licensure, or plan to receive said licensure by April 1, 2022 To be considered for the per diem EMT-C positions, applicants must have a current EMT-C license with the State of Rhode Island.  Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, a citizen of the United States, and possess a valid driver’s license.  Applicants are required to successfully pass a written exam, physical agility, and scenario-based assessments.  Applicants are also required to successfully complete a thorough background check, oral interview and pre-employment health and psychological evaluations   Starting salary for full time Paramedic positions is $52,252 and after successful completion of a six-month probation, increases to $54,278, and includes a full benefit package. Starting salary for per diem Paramedics is $25 per hour and EMT-Cs is $23 per hour.
