Perform duties of average difficulty in fabricating and maintaining pavement markings, operating paint machine, making signs and maintaining traffic control devices. Operate and maintain street marking machines. Insure all work is done in accordance to the regulations governing the design, installation and maintenance as dictated in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Moderate public contact. Overtime and night work required on occasions. Perform other related duties as assigned. Work performed both inside and out in all weather conditions. Heavy physical effort required at least 75% of the day which includes standing, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, climbing and walking. Must be able to lift and carry in excess of 50 lbs. (with the help of others). Knowledge of proper design, installation and maintenance of traffic control devices, operation and maintenance of sign making machines, pavement marking machines, and associated tools and equipment. Knowledge of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Skill in the use of a computer and the ability to generate inventory reports. IMSA Level I Signs/Markings certification (mandatory within one (1) year of employment). Minimum of two (2) years experience in road painting or road duties.
