The City of West Fargo would like to invite the public to an open house to recognize outgoing West Fargo City Commissioner Eric Gjerdevig . The event will be held from 4 - 5 p . m . Monday , June 20 , in the Commission Chambers of West Fargo City Hall .  
   Commissioner Gjerdevig , a West Fargo native , was elected to the West Fargo City Commission in 2018 . He has held the planning , zoning and engineering portfolio since 2020 . He also served on the West Fargo Public Library Board , West Fargo Fire Department Board of Directors before the fire department became a part of the City , West Fargo Economic Development Advisory Committee , Fargo - Moorhead Metropolitan Council of Governments and West Fargo Liquor Control Board .
   Commissioner Gjerdevig has a business degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a master’s degree from the University of North Dakota . He currently teaches at North Dakota State University on the topic of professional selling and sales and marketing technology . He has also served the community through participation in the Dakota Telco Federal Credit Union , Rape and Abuse Crisis Center and Tech ND .
