Myrtle Beach Tennis Center is renamed in honor of beloved coach , teacher , father and friend

   It’s officially the Rivers F . Lynch Tennis Center at Myrtle Beach High School . A large crowd attended this afternoon’s naming ceremony , showing how much everyone loved and respected the late Rivers Lynch , longtime coach for the Seahawks . He passed away unexpectedly in 2019 , but his legacy is not forgotten . Son - in - law John Cahill , the Seahawks’ athletic director , said Rivers always had a smile on his face and made every student or adult feel like the most important person .
   “All it takes is all you’ve got” was what Lynch told his teams , and that resulted in 11 state tennis championships for Myrtle Beach High School . The 10 - court tennis center is jointly owned by the Horry County Schools and City of Myrtle Beach .
