Each year , the Santa Clara Police Department raises funds and awareness for Special Olympics Northern California ( SONC ) by participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run . This year , the Torch Run will take place on Friday , June 24 .
   The Torch Run features more than 3 , 000 law enforcement personnel from hundreds of local agencies carrying the Special Olympics Flame of Hope throughout Northern California . The Torch Run culminates with the SONC Summer Games which will take place at Santa Clara University , June 24 - 26 , 2022 . The SONC Summer Games is the premier sporting event of the year where athletes compete against their peers in bocce , swimming , tennis or track & field .
   Our team is collecting donations for SONC
