   POSITION DETAILS:                        
   TITLE:                                                Labourer I 
   DEPARTMENT:                                Municipal Services-Airport Division
   CURRENT RATE OF PAY:              $26.84 per hour plus 15% in lieu
   HOURS OF WORK:                          40 hours per week, shift work and overtime as required including evenings/weekends
   GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
   The incumbent shall be responsible for carrying out day-to-day operational duties at the Williams Lake Airport including maintenance of airside and groundside infrastructure and fuel handling.
   SUPERVISION:
   The incumbent shall be Responsible to the Director of Municipal Services under the direction of the Airport Manager.
   MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
   Perform manual labour in construction, repair and maintenance within the Municipal Services Department.
   Manual labour in repair and maintenance within the Airport Division.
   Installation and maintenance of traffic and airport signage, including visual aids in airfield lighting.
   Responsible for dispensing and handling of aviation fuel as required.
   Responsible for maintenance, testing and monitoring of aviation fuel system as required.
   Responsible for coordinating and performing minor facility maintenance, such as repairs to plumbing, fencing, painting, security gates and facility mechanical systems, etc.
   Inspection of visual aids and airfield lighting.
   Responsible to ensure that materials removed from Stores to undertake project or maintenance work are correctly booked out as required by the Purchasing Agent.
   Must be willing to work within the safety guidelines as established by the City and Transport Canada.
   Must work within safety guidelines as established by the City and/or the Work Safe BC Compensation Board.
   Responsible for ensuring safe work practices used on the job site and assisting in the development of safe and more efficient methods of work.
   Shall be required to work shift work and in inclement weather conditions.
   Must respond to call-out for emergency maintenance and repair work on short notice.
   Responsible for assisting in the training of new employees to familiarize them with Municipal work.
   Shall be required to work shift work as scheduled and overtime as required.
   Other duties as may be assigned to assist with the day to day operation of the Airport Division.
   QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
   Minimum Grade 12
   Shall possess a valid B.C. Driver's License - Class 5 with Air Endorsement.
   Shall possess a valid Aviation Restricted Radio Operator`s Permit, or obtain it within 2 months.
   Shall possess a valid Airside Vehicle Operator`s Permit, or obtain it within 2 months
   Shall possess CSA Standard, or equivalent, certification of aviation fuel handling competency. 
   Shall have thorough working knowledge and be capable of operating small equipment, weed eater, chain saw, hustler, etc. 
   Shall undertake additional training in the correct operation of other equipment and to upgrade skills and abilities. 
   Shall have the ability to work with minimal supervision. 
   Shall be capable of and have experience working with basic hand tools.
   Shall be able to understand, report verbally and by written report in English.
   Shall be able to accept and comprehend verbal instructions.
   Shall have the ability to work with others as a team.
   Shall have the desire and initiative to undertake additional training courses, upgrading your skills and abilities.
   Must be Fully Vaccinated with COVID-19 Vaccination
