   Work Schedule:                      8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday with some exceptions
   Salary:                                    $20.00/hr.

   PURPOSE AND DUTIES:  
    
   Supervise individuals placed on probation. Juvenile Court Probation Officers provide community control supervision and case management of Juvenile offenders sentenced by the Court. The Probation Officer is responsible for the supervision of the offender and the enforcement of all Court Orders and terms of probation.
    
   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    
   Accurate and detailed documentation and maintenance of records.
   Conducting Ohio Youth Assessment Survey and similar offender risk/needs assessments.
   Development and management of offender supervision plans.
   Conducting pre-sentence investigations.
   Conducting urinalysis drug testing on offenders. 
   Enforcement and collection of restitution.
   Supervision of electric monitoring/house arrest cases. 
   Testifying at court hearings and revocation proceeding. 
   Establishing and maintaining effective contacts with various community agencies.
   Work with parents/guardians, families, and schools to help ensure the success of the youth.
    
   SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
    
   Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, sociology or other related field.
   Prefer prior experience working with juveniles and families, and/or experience working in the court system.
   Good computer skills. 
   Effective inter-personal communications skills.
   Strong organization skills.

   Employees of the Court are at-will employees and serve at the pleasure of the Judge.  They are not in the classified civil service system and are not members of bargaining units. 
    
   This position requires direct contact with offenders, families, schools, other agencies, and exposure to potentially stressful and occasionally dangerous situations and conditions.
   The person selected must pass a background investigation and are subject to drug testing.
