    ( June 23 , 2022 ) The City of Henderson Police Department will start an enhanced traffic enforcement initiative targeting speeders from June 26th through July 18th , 2022 .
   During this time , Henderson Police will use officers dedicated to this initiative to complete saturation patrols throughout the Henderson area to stop speeding vehicles . These officers will target areas that are known for excessive speeds and areas that have received the most citizen complaints of speed violations .
   According to Injury Facts , “Speeding was a factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities in 2020 , killing 11 , 258 , or an average of over 30 people per day” . Speeding is more than just breaking the law; there are consequences for risky driving behavior .  
   Joining Forces is a multi - jurisdictional law enforcement program aimed at reducing injuries and crashes through statewide enforcement of traffic safety laws . The goal is to save lives by increasing public awareness about the dangers of making poor choices while driving .
   The Henderson Police Department received $237 , 300 in federal funding for the enhanced enforcement through the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety for the 2022 Joining Forces program .
