Department of Housing and Urban Development ' s ( HUD ) Office of Public Housing , Energy Branch received the Smart Energy Decisions ' ( SED ) 2023 Diversity , Equity , and Inclusion ( DEI ) Award . Dr . Charles Marshall , HUD ' s Energy Director , accepted the award on behalf of his team at the Net Zero Forum Fall in Phoenix , AZ . They were recognized for their efforts in promoting DEI practices in energy and sustainability at their organization . Secretary Marcia L . Fudge expressed gratitude for the award and highlighted HUD ' s commitment to diversity , equity , and inclusion in clean energy . The winners were chosen by a panel of judges from various organizations . Smart Energy Decisions is an online resource that provides information and support to large power customers , aiming to drive change in the energy market .
