Mark your calendars! The first Household Hazardous Waste ( HHW ) Round - Up and Kick it to the Curb of 2022 are happening on June 18 & 19!
Household Hazardous Waste Round - Up
The first Household Hazardous Waste ( HHW ) Round - Up of 2022 is happening on June 18 and 19 from 9:30 a . m . to 5:30 p . m . at the
Wetaskiwin Recycling Centre
( 5707 51 Street ) .
This event is for
City of Wetaskiwin residents
ONLY
. Identification will be asked for at the Recycle Centre to ensure that only City of Wetaskiwin residents are dropping off household hazardous wastes . If you have any questions about this , please call Waste & Recycle at 780 . 361 . 4427 .
During the HHW Round Up you may drop off items at Recycling Centre ( 5710 - 51 Street ) for free and safe disposal . Check around your house for hazardous product symbols . Examples of HHW that you can bring include:
Computers
Printers
TVs
Keyboards
Cellphones & chargers
Hair Spray
Paint & Paint Thinner
Used Oil , Filters , & Containers
Antifreeze
Brake Fluid
Batteries
Glues
Cements
Solvents
Ant & Weed Killers

Don’t put your useful but unwanted items in the garbage! Give them another life by giving them away during
Kick it to the Curb
! This popular event will take place in conjunction with the Household Hazardous Waste Round - up on June 18 and 19 , 2022 , from 9:30 a . m . to 5:30 p . m . each day .
Kick it to the Curb is a city - wide event to help Wetaskiwin residents reduce and reuse . Place your unwanted but usable items at the front of your property marked with a ‘FREE’ sign . Then explore curbsides around the city to find new - to - you treasures that are marked with a ‘FREE’ sign . Ensure anything you want to keep is well away from your give - away items .
How Kick it to the Curb Works:
Giving items away
Step 1:
Place unwanted , sanitized items at the front of your property .
Step 2:
Mark items with the word ' FREE ' using masking tape or stickers .
Step 3:
Ensure anything you want to keep is far away from the items you are giving away .
Step 4:
Remove any unclaimed items from the curb by 5:30 p . m . Sunday evening ( June 18 , 2021 ) .
Taking items
Only take items at the curb that are clearly marked ' FREE ' .
Respect property; don ' t walk or drive on lawns or gardens .
Don ' t discard items on another property .
Sanitize items before bringing them into your home .
