Delta County is accepting applications for the position of Grant Administrator. This position will identify, define and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as well as lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies. Administrator will monitor programs to ensure compliance with grant regulations; provide administrative and technical support for grant programs; participate in budget development and management of grant funded programs and projects; provide high level grant assistance to the County Administrator and Department Heads/Elected Officials.
Primary responsibilities include preparation of proposals and grant applications, and performance of responsible professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing and responding to public and private grant opportunities in areas that support Delta County programs.
The position is also responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on the performance of program activities that are funded by federal, state, and private funding agencies as required by awarded grants.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required or 5 years of extensive successful Federal and State grant awards may be waive requirement; master’s degree preferred
Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:
Grant writing experience, preferably in State and Federal funding or governmental awarded grants
Experience which should demonstrate a proven track record of securing new funding opportunities; comprehensive knowledge of research, and the ability to distinguish and identify opportunities for local government programs
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Excellent writing and verbal skills
Be highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes
Proficiency in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data
Excellent computer application and database management skills
Motivated self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively and independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
A proven record of securing major grants with certifiable references
Knowledge of grant application process, scoring criteria and funding cycles
Previous federal grant application, submission, approval and management of funds
Combination of education and experience could waive specific requirement.
Licenses/Certifications:
Current and valid Colorado Driver’s License.
Background:
Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment.
Hiring Salary Range:
$58,575 - $70,000 depending upon education and experience.

Delta County offers benefits for this position which include medical, dental, vision, and additional selective optional insurances available to the employee and eligible dependents on a cost share basis between employee and the organization. Life insurance and employee only medical insurance is available at no cost to the employee. We have a pre-tax flexible spending account. Employees contribute 4% of salary to a 401(a) retirement account fully matched with 4% from the County along with an optional 457 tax advantaged deferred-compensation retirement plan. Paid time off is accrued at 14 hours per month with an additional 11 paid holidays in a calendar year. We have a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that includes counseling along with some legal and financial support counseling.
