JOB SUMMARY
Operates the golf course Pro Shop and Cart Barn to ensure quality service to the public. Responsible for the planning, promotion, and direction of all golf activities. Reports to the City Administrator, or designee.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Schedules, trains, and evaluates staff on policies, procedures, and job duties
Schedules golf carts needs with staff
Assists in budget establishment and monitoring expenditures
Researches and develops recommendations for fees charged for golf play and merchandise
Markets and promotes golf course
Aggressively pursues tournament and league play
Make revenue projections
Ensures completion of daily reports of all transactions and ensures funds collected are deposited daily
Supervises the merchandising and maintenance of complete golf equipment, clothing and supplies
Monitors the quantity of goods and materials of stock through an automated central inventory control system and establishes reorder procedures
Develops written operational procedures
Works closely with golf organizations, citizen groups, vendors and industry representatives.
Meet the public, schedules tee times and answers questions regarding the use of golf facilities
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
Must work with public and city employees
Promotes positive public relations
Responsible for overall up keep and cleaning of pro shop
Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Minimum Associates of Science degree in business or related field. Three (3) years’ work experience under the class “A” Golf Professional.
Licenses or Certifications:
Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License and a good driving record.
Special Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision
Leadership styles and skills
Knowledge of cash handling procedures and internal control
Knowledge of pro shop organization and management
Knowledge of driving range operations management
Must be able to direct starters and rangers for best effect
Knowledge of merchandising marketing and inventory control
Knowledge of golf rules, golf etiquette, scoring tournaments and tournament organization
Knowledge of POS system and online tee times
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to follow city policies and procedures tactfully
Ability to work with the public, some of whom may be irate or unreasonable
Ability to work with other city employees
Ability to deal with a large number of customers in a limited time
Must be well versed in Windows based computer
Must have professional phone skills
Ability to operate a copying machine

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Requires periodic outdoor work with exposure to the sun and various conditions. Working in constant contact with co-workers and clients.
