Full Time Fire Apparatus Engineer/EMT
   Salary:                       $16.23 - $20.95 per hour DOQ

   UPDATE REGARDING TESTING AND INTERVIEWS:  Testing and Interviews are scheduled for Tuesday, February 22, 2022.  Testing will consist of a written examination, as well as a physical agility test. Please see the attached document for physical requirements.

    The Position
   As a first-responder, this individual is integral to the safety of our community. Selected candidate will protect life and property by performing firefighting, emergency aid, hazardous materials, and fire prevention duties. Will also maintain fire equipment, apparatus, and facilities. Will work cooperatively with other first-responders, including law enforcement, medical personnel, volunteer firefighters and new recruits. 
    Location and Hours
    
   This position is located at the Alliance Fire Department at 315 Cheyenne Ave. Firefighters work 24 hour shifts to provide round the clock coverage, for an average of 10 shifts per month.
     About the Position Type
   This position is full-time, and includes vacation, sick leave accrual, holiday pay, medical/dental/vision, life insurance and participation in a matching retirement plan.
    In this Position, you Will:
   Perform firefighting activities including driving fire apparatus, operating pumps and related equipment
   Perform emergency aid activities including administering first aid and other assistance as required
   Receives and relays fire calls, operates radio and other communication equipment.
    Need to Have
   Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent
   Two (2) years active service as Firefighter/EMT. Volunteer service will be considered if applicable.
    Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
   Working knowledge of driver safety and first aid; Ability to learn operation of fire suppression and other emergency equipment.  
    Special Requirements
   Must be at least 21 years; US Citizen; Must possess valid State driver’s license or able to obtain at time of hire; No felony convictions; Be able to read and write English language; Possess current NREMT Basic certificate or higher and/or Nebraska EMT License; Ability to complete Advanced EMT within one year; Must successfully pass testing including written Firefighter Exam, background check, and Physical Fitness test; Ability to work rotating shifts; Nebraska Firefighter I certificate (if applicable)
