   The Position:
   The selected individual will work in the Utility Office as the first line of customer relations to create a welcoming environment to the public and perform a variety of routine clerical, administrative, and financial duties related to accounting and customer records. Excellent communication skills are needed to provide service to customers, fellow office employees, and other departments across the organization. Account Clerks may work in accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, cash receipting, and customer service.
    
   Location and Hours 
   This full-time position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is located in the Municipal Building Utility Office at 324 Laramie in Alliance.
    
   About the Position Type
   This position is full-time and benefit-earning. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance as well as leave accrual, holiday pay and participation in a retirement plan.
    
    In this Position, you Will:
   Interact with customers by phone or in-person, respond to questions regarding services and billing.
   Work extensively with the utility office computer software to process payments, meter deposits and work orders.
   Process large quantities of bills and service orders in a timely and accurate manner to ensure quality of service.
    
    Need to Have
   Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as bookkeeping or accounting, computers, and/or clerical duties.
   One (1) year or responsible related experience.
   Previous direct customer service and cash handling experience preferred.
   Working knowledge of computers and electronic data processing including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Outlook; experience with tools and equipment including 10-key calculator, and some knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
    
   Special Requirements
     Valid State Driver’s license and CDL certification, or ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of hire. This DOT position is covered by the FMCSA and is subject to all DOT drug testing requirements.
