Financial Specialist II:
Perform specialized processes relating to the areas of property taxes, excise, receipting, foreclosure and other tasks as assigned in support of the processes within the Treasurer's Office.
The employee of this class is responsible for a variety of processes as demonstrated below. Work involves considerable contact with a variety of county staff, with other government agencies, and with public and private officials, and with the citizens of Whitman County who depend on the accuracy and quality of the work performed. Work requires the operation of office equipment such as computer terminals, typewriters, telephones, and calculators, where both speed and accuracy are necessary to contribute to the proper office operations.
Prepare correspondence as necessary pertaining to job functions or as directed by supervisory personnel. Complete research and prepare preliminary data analysis from the county's tax system and financial system. Reporting often requires use of Microsoft Word and Excel for data manipulation, analysis and reporting. Assists with preparation of financial data as needed for reporting for annual financial reports and auditing. As requested by supervisory personnel, presents various Treasurer Office subject matters to the county's ATM membership.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: Two (2) years of progressively increased knowledge and responsibility in the areas of clerical, bookkeeping, or accounting experience as applicable to the work of the position;
OR
any combination of experience, education, and training which would provide the level of knowledge and ability required.
SALARY: $3,306.00.
