Assigns work and supervises the Facilities Management staff.
Prepares work schedules for staff.
Prepares contracts and requests for proposals.
Develops capital planning for all County maintained buildings and grounds.
Prepares department reports and presentations as required.
Prepares the department budget and oversees and controls associated expenditures.
Develops long-range goals and projects with departments to implement into capital planning.
Coordinates projects with County staff and contracted providers.
Inspects work being performed by staff and contracted providers.
Assures compliance with all federal, state, and County codes and regulations.
Interacts and coordinates work with contractors, engineers, and architects.
Conducts performance evaluations on staff and handles personnel-related issues.
Interviews and makes recommendations in selecting new employees and/or new positions.
Schedules and manages routine maintenance on all building systems.
Reviews equipment inventory and makes recommendations for upgrades and/or repairs.
Ensures the facility complies with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.
Recommends appropriate training for staff to include OSHA.
Holds staff meetings to review work orders, department needs, etc.
Attends County meetings to represent the Department.
Assists work crews with maintenance duties in emergency or diminished staffing.
Responsible for ensuring/assisting with on-call coverage at all times for emergencies.
Supports County operations during an Emergency Operations Center opening.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
