JOB TITLE:
Executive Assistant I – Juvenile Court
STATUS:
Full Time (Monday – Friday; 8:30 – 4:30 PM)
SALARY:
$35,000 - $39,000
Serves as Executive Assistant I for the Juvenile Court managing day-to-day inflow and outflow of legal documents through the system in conjunction with the Executive Assistant II.
DUTIES:
Answer telephone for service and process mail as needed.
Maintains JD/JS court calendar including scheduling of hearings, re-setting of hearings as needed and corresponding with appropriate parties regarding the availability of dates/times.
Files exhibits as necessary.
Coordinate JD/JC files for hearings and provide to the Court for review.
Prepare, file/copy and distribute JC, JT, JD orders.
File DCS pleadings and distribute copes to the Court and DCS.
Prepare, file, and distribute Orders Appointing Public Defender/CASA.
Complete Protective Order documents, copy and distribute to parities after hearing and prior to their departure. Send documentation to the sheriff’s department.
Coordinates supply ordering with the Circuit Court.
Coordinates in custody hearings for all case types.
Perform duties normally assigned to the Executive Assistant II when absent.
Perform Bailiff duties as directed.
Perform Court Reporter duties when Court Reporter is absent.
Attends training and staff meetings as directed.
Performs other duties as directed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED .
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be a resident of Porter County
