The City of Cadillac is accepting applications for the position of Equipment Operator. A vacancy currently exists,
and hiring will be immediate.
Duties (not all inclusive):
Operates a variety of heavy equipment, tractors, specialty equipment and trucks.
Plows snow and salts streets.
Repairs streets, street signals, miscellaneous lighting and sidewalks.
Plants, trims and removes trees.
Replaces plow blades and changes tires on trucks as necessary.
Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Monitors streets for unsafe conditions; performs various surveys.
Hangs banners, seasonal decorations, plants, etc. along streets.
This is a full-time position and outstanding benefits package to include:

Requirements at time of application:
a minimum of a high school diploma
a current CDL Class B license with air brake endorsement
experience operating heavy equipment
construction or forestry experience is highly preferred

A comprehensive background (criminal, education, references), physical and drug screen will be conducted on the successful applicant
Position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing
Night shift and weekends required during snow season or as directed
Residency within a 20-mile radius of the city limits is required within 90 days after hire
Starting pay of $18.54/hour.
Wages, benefits, etc, governed by union contract
