BOULDER CITY
    – You may not see them , but they are always there: public servants making sure our residents are safe , getting the services that they need . The employees of the City of Boulder City protect us through law enforcement , by responding to fires and medical calls , providing us justice through the courts , managing our vital records , make sure we can vote , and so much more . The week of May 1 - 7 , 2022 is designated by the President and Congress as Public Service Recognition Week ( PSRW ) .
   PRSW has been celebrated since 1985 during the first full week in May . It is a time to honor those who serve our nation as federal , state , county , and local government employees . Public Service Recognition Week highlights the accomplishments of the dedicated public servants who work tirelessly on behalf of all Americans and who rarely get the credit they deserve .  
   Banners will be placed in front of the larger city facilities during the week - long celebration , and storyboards describing the work of each department will be displayed inside buildings . Boulder City’s social media accounts will also recognize employees , utilizing a hash tag of #PSRW .  
   There is also a Proclamation that Boulder City Mayor Kiernan McManus has signed to recognize staff . “These past two years dealing with the pandemic has been a challenge .  Our City employees stepped up to address these demands that lessened the impact on our residents and greatly accelerated our recovery , ” said Mayor McManus . “Our City continues to be the Best City by a Dam Site because of the work by our dedicated employees .  On behalf of the City Council and our community I want recognize the work our public service employees do for our City . ”
   In Boulder City and throughout the nation , dedicated public servants worked through the pandemic , providing hope to their neighbors . “Unlike larger communities with thousands of employees , our team does more with less , and they are willing to go above and beyond when necessary . Many employees took on new duties to help thousands of residents get vaccinations , food and financial assistance , ” said Taylour Tedder , City Manager for Boulder City . “The employees of Boulder City are now focusing on helping our residents and businesses as we recover from the economic and social implications of the pandemic . I believe – with this team – Boulder City will emerge stronger and better . ”
