SALARY RANGE:
Starting Salary: $42,398 / $20.38/hr.
Pay Grade Z-19
Non-Exempt / Mandatory Testing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in related field preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in water and/or wastewater plant and/or sewage lift station electrical/instrumentation maintenance. Electrical/electronic certifications/licenses highly preferred. Knowledge of current electrical codes and standards, and ability to maintain and troubleshoot equipment including Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) operations. Must possess a valid State of Florida Class B CDL driver license with air brake endorsement, or obtain within six (6) months of employment.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Under the general direction of the Wastewater Superintendent, performs skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical components and instrumentation at the wastewater treatment plant, sewage lift stations, and water production wells. Maintains preventative and corrective schedules and records. Performs general maintenance duties, which may involve pipefitting, plumbing, painting, carpentry, welding and/or cleaning. Position is subject to emergency call-outs. Must be able to work overtime including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Completes other related duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
The selected candidate will have a background check completed, undergo drug testing, and complete a physical exam before employment. Tasks completed for this position involve regular and sustained physical exertion, and possible exposure to explosive, electrical, human, water and fire hazards.
The compensation package will start at the base salary range and may vary based on proven abilities of the individual selected. The City of Zephyrhills has an excellent benefit package, which includes medical, dental, life insurance, and Florida Retirement System (FRS).
