Buena Vista Colorado - East Main Street Closure Schedule for Monday September 12 01 September 2022 ( news )

The Buena Vista Public Works Department , as part of its responsibility to ensure public health and safety , is notifying the public that East Main Street will be closed on September 12th starting at approximately 8 AM and lasting until about 3 PM as the Town Public Works Department works to improve our towns’ street surfaces . A1 Chip Seal Company , the contractor responsible for the project , reports that this work should take approximately 7 hours . Traffic control measures will assist in rerouting traffic in this area .
Affected areas:
East Main Street between HWY 24 and South Main Street – Closed
Every effort will be made to minimize congestion and confusion created by this project . Detour signs will be in place to re - direct traffic . Work will begin at the South Main Street and East Main Street intersection ( working East to West ) to complete the work that will impact traffic into and out of Avery Parsons Elementary School first . This will allow time for the road work to be correctly cured before school traffic begins .
The focus of this project , and future similar projects , is to improve driving conditions and prevent further damage to our streets .
