Under general supervision, responsible for coordinating all program logistics related to the Dodgers Dream Team program and serves as the primary point of contact for the Dodgers Dream Team program. The below list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY; the incumbent in this temporary position may perform additional program-related duties as needed.
TASKS:
Set goals and establish plans to continue to grow participation in the Dodgers Dream Team program with a specific focus on girls, teens, and under-represented youth;
Manage and coordinate Field Champions to maximize participation and engagement within Inglewood;
Recruit coaches, players/participants for the Dodgers Dream Team program
Manage all scheduling and secure umpires for all games.
Attend games and practices and be the visible point of contact for staff, coaches, volunteers, and participants in the program.
Communicate directly with parents and families to help them understand the logistics of the program operations, including regular communications with parents;
Serve as the primary point of contact for the City of Inglewood Dodgers Dream Team program;
Work with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation staff to provide resources to support the implementation of the program, including equipment and uniforms;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of program and event planning techniques, vendor recruitment policies and procedures; planning, organizing, and implementing activities and events; departmental and City policies and procedures; and quality problem-solving techniques and methods;
Skilled in training, monitoring staff and volunteers to ensure program activities are accomplished; providing information and open communicating with appropriate individuals; explaining, implementing, and enforcing City and departmental policies and procedures; problem-solving day to day issues and concerns;
Ability to perform essential duties exercising sound judgment with little supervision, develop productive teams, establish and maintain a respectful and courteous working relationship with participants, volunteers, staff, and community; and work extended hours, including evenings and weekends;
Proficient in using computers, electronic devices, and industry-related (LeagueApps) software packages to perform essential job duties.
