Director of Administrative Services
Position Purpose:
The Town of Billerica seeks qualified candidates for the position of Director of Administrative Services.
Under the direction of the Town Manager the Director of Administrative Services performs highly
responsible and confidential duties related to the operations of the Town Manager’s Office and The Town
of Billerica.
This position also allows the right candidate a terrific situation to learn, grow, and work on interesting
projects that will help further your municipal management career.
The past two people in this position have gone on to hold Assistant Town Manager type roles.
Current & past special projects have
included:
Serving on multiple Building Committees, union negotiations, LED
streetlight retrofit, the creation of a new website, help facilitating the Capital Facilities Study, COVID-19
Testing & Vaccine deployment, and many other important municipal projects.
Essential Functions:

Serve as the Town Manager’s Office primary point of contact and liaison for the intake and
completion of any constituent service request.
Provide support and oversee any special the projects as assigned by the Town Manager
Responsible for the creation and preparation of Town Meeting booklets, the annual budget book
documents, and the annual report. As well other reports in conjunction with the Town Manager.
Help oversee and create content for the Town of Billerica’s digital presence including Facebook, Website,
Twitter, Nextdoor, Etc.
Take part in the preparations and creation of materials for all Board of Selectmen meetings.
Work closely with the Department of Community Planning and Development on current & future
projects.
Facilitate and attend night Zoom Meetings when needed.
Pursue grant opportunities and facilitate the completion of any corresponding projects.
Work closely with all residents and Town staff to continue to help innovate and move Billerica
forward.
Education Training and Experience:
The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, public administration, communications
or similar disciplines. Master’s degree in public administration and prior municipal experience preferred. 3 – 5 years in an office setting
with increasing responsibility. Superior skills in all Microsoft Office applications to include Excel and
PowerPoint.
Salary Range
$90,000 – $101,000 depending upon qualifications and experience.
