Interested in purchasing a home but need money for a down payment to qualify for a home mortgage loan? The City of Columbus has funds available for direct homebuyer assistance .
   Qualified households can receive a 0% deferred interest loan for up to 20% of the total project cost , not to exceed $30 , 000 .  Income restrictions apply in order to be eligible for this program .
   Applications are taken on a first - come , first - ready basis and will be accepted until all funds have been allocated , or May 1 , 2023 .
