The family of late Henry Bernard Glover , Hot Springs - born producer - songwriter , commissioned and has donated to the City of Hot Springs a custom mosaic planter in honor of Glover . A dedication ceremony for the planter is scheduled for 10 a . m . on Friday , May 6 , in the lobby of 324 Malvern Avenue , which is located adjacent to Henry Glover Place Parklet .  
   The event is free and open to the public .  
   The mosaic planter project was coordinated by the Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance and was created by Hot Springs artist Alice Mitchell .  
   Glover ( 1921 - 1991 ) “broke down barriers of race and genre , forever impacting American culture , ” as described by Stephen Koch of “Arkansongs” . His songwriting credits include “Drown In My Own Tears , ” “Peppermint Twist , ” “California Sun , ” and more . He also produced “The Twist” and “Fever , ” and artists from Grandpa Jones and James Brown to Dinah Washington and Muddy Waters . “He created musical stars , and was one himself – a star content behind the scenes , ” said Koch .
