Data Collector / Assistant Assessor
   Duties and Responsibilities
   : Primary responsibility for the on-going maintenance of the Town’s assessment inventory through data collection/measuring, listing, photographing, and inspecting residential properties in the field as part of the Town’s on-going cyclical inspection program. Further duties are data entry, create drawings, analyzing data and maintain records of properties to be entered into the Town’s CAMA system. Assist with building permits, RE Abatements, Deed research, GIS, handling confidential documents and interaction with the public through over the counter and telephone inquiries, and assist in the annual real estate and personal property valuation and range of administrative duties with the operation of the Assessor’s Office.
   Qualifications: 
   Preferred candidate will have knowledge of real estate appraisal and data collections skills. College degree preferred, but not necessary. Strong communication experience and the tact and poise to deal with the public are necessary. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software and the internet along with data entry skills on a mass appraisal database are essential.  Experience with the Patriot Properties Assess Pro software and MUNIS financial software is preferred, but not necessary.
   Successful candidate must also possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and their own vehicle to use doing field work if Town vehicle is not available.  The Town does reimburse mileage.  Candidate must also be physically able to measure and list properties in the field during all four seasons.
   Salary Range: $46,407.26 - 63,388.00
