DETECTIVES ARREST FELON FROM SAN DIEGO FOR MANUFACTURING MULITPLE FIREARMS AND DRUG POSSESSION
During an investigation conducted by the El Cajon Police Special Investigations Unit , it was discovered that 26 - year - old Tristan Tomlin of San Diego was selling narcotics in El Cajon . Detectives obtained a search warrant for Tomlin’s residence , his vehicles , and his person .
On May 19 , 2022 , SIU detectives located Tomlin and detained him with the assistance of the U . S . Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force . During the search , detectives found a loaded ghost gun he had concealed in his waist band , and three ounces of crystal methamphetamine in his vehicle . Inside his residence , they found over three pounds of fentanyl , over 2 , 200 narcotics pills , four additional ghost guns to include a semi - automatic AR - 15 rifle , high - capacity magazines , a bullet proof vest , a machine used to manufacture firearms , and over $30 , 000 in cash .
Tomlin was arrested and booked into jail for manufacturing firearms , possession of a concealed firearm in a public place , possession of methamphetamine for sale , possession of fentanyl for sale , and felon in possession of a firearm . He is being held on $500 , 000 bail and is a convicted felon with prior convictions for identity theft and felony evading of police .
While Tomlin is a resident of San Diego , he conducted his drug trade operation in the City of El Cajon and throughout east - county . The El Cajon Police Department is dedicated to protecting our community from criminals such as Tomlin and frequently identify , locate , and arrest suspects from other cities who attempt to diminish the quality of life in El Cajon .
