$30,000 to 40,000 depending on qualifications and experience, with full benefits
Description
In this role you will operate independently and as part of a team to ensure our software, hardware, and related components are protected from cyber-attacks. This includes developing security systems, analyzing current systems for vulnerabilities, managing and maintaining firewalls and handling any and all cyber-attacks in an efficient and effective manner. Candidates should have strong IT skills and a deep understanding of cyber hacker methodology.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
Prepare and maintain procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring firewall and security performance.
Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
Support development and implementation of new hardware installations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware and software installations.
Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executables, and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Recommend, schedule, and perform firewall, hardware and software improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
Operational Management
Develop unique, effective security strategies for software systems, networks, data centers, and hardware.
Implement/build-in security systems to software, hardware, and components.
Research best ways to secure company-wide IT infrastructure.
Maintain firewalls to protect network infrastructures.
QA software and hardware for security vulnerabilities and risks.
Monitor software for external intrusions, attacks, and hacks.
Close off security vulnerability in the case of an attack.
Identify cyber attackers, report to management, and cooperate with police or other legal forces to detain perpetrator.
Maintain and improve skills with VMware, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and on premise phone system.
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
A degree in the field of information technology and/or 5 years equivalent work experience is preferred
Completion of an internship/apprenticeship or employment in cybersecurity a plus.
Knowledge & Experience
Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware, including VMWare, Windows OS, HP Networking, Dell PCs.
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, firewall, operating systems, and standards.
Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
Ability to conduct research into security issues and products as required.
Strong IT skills including knowledge on hardware, software, networks, and data centers.
Thorough work ethic, attention to detail.
Skills of perception and QA, ability to identify vulnerabilities and overall issues
Critical thinking skills, problem solving aptitude.
Forensic approach to challenges
Ability to think like a hacker and anticipate hacker moves.
Desire to self-educate on the ever-changing landscape of cyber hacking tactic.
Experience in professional cybersecurity a plus.

Work Conditions
On-call availability for evening hours
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand and power tools, and to handle other computer components
Inspection and installation of cables in walls, floors and ceilings.
Lifting and transporting of heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
