$15.00 - $20.39 per hour
This is responsible clerical work in the Finance Department’s Customer Service Division receiving and processing all City revenues including utility payments, miscellaneous receivables, business tax licenses, permits, etc. Responsibilities include balancing and preparing daily deposits; processing and issuing business and solicitation tax receipts; responding to service requests, customer inquiries, and issues; establishing customer accounts. Employee must exercise courtesy and tact when addressing the public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of English; spelling; math; standard office practices, procedures, and equipment.
Knowledge of record keeping practices and procedures.
Ability to learn the City’s geographical service areas.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of State of Florida statutes regulating “Local Business Tax Receipts.”
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the public; exercise good judgment, courtesy and tact.
Proficient in computer applications, including
Microsoft Office
.
Ability to rapidly and accurately use a calculator, enter data, and manage cash; learn departmental billing procedures.
Ability to lift, carry, pull, push, and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Training, Certification, and Experience
High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by courses in office practices and two years clerical work experience which includes one year customer service experience.
Or, an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements
Valid Florida driver’s license
The City of Temple Terrace is a drug-free workplace.
