The Libertyville Police Department is looking for a School Crossing Guard to help our children safely cross intersections in our school district.
Crossing Guards must be available for 1.25 hours in the morning before school, and 1.25 hours in the afternoon after school, Monday thru Friday during the school year. These are paid part-time positions with the Village of Libertyville. Guards are assigned to specific intersections for the duration of the school year and must be able to provide their own transportation to and from their assigned intersection.
Why are Crossing Guards so important?
They provide safety for your children at school crossings
They escort children across the street going to and from school
They help prevent children from crossing in unsafe traffic conditions
They observe and report suspicious vehicles or persons around the school area
How do I become a School Crossing Guard?
Submit an employment application to the Police Department (200 E. Cook Avenue). Employment applications are available for pick-up at the Front Counter of the Police Department.
