ASSISTANT COURT ADMINISTRATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Information
The Washington County Common Pleas Court, General Division, is seeking a dynamic and motivated person to serve as an Assistant Court Administrator/Probation Department Administrative Assistant. This position should eventually become the Court Administrator upon retirement of the current Court Administrator next year.
The position is an administrative level position, responsible for the administration of judicial support by providing leadership, planning, direction and supervision of the operations of the Court. The responsibilities of the position would be fluid. Initially the position would spend most of their time and resources helping to establish and set up the Court’s newly formed probation department. Responsibilities would include human resources, creating spreadsheets, budgeting, fiscal management, and grant reporting. A working knowledge of computer programs such as Word and Excel would be necessary. The position would eventually focus on learning the duties of the current Court Administrator. The Court Administrator is the senior non-elected member of the Common Pleas Court, General Division, team. In addition to supervising the Court staff, the position carries out administrative duties including, but not limited to, scheduling court hearings, case flow management, records management, fiscal management, statistical analysis, public relations, technology management, grant management and personnel management.

Compensation is based on a wide array of factors such as a candidate's experience, skills, and education.

Experience Requirements
While the Court does not require any specific educational degree, a background and experience in personnel supervision and management, financial reporting, grant management, budgeting are necessary.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted at the discretion of the Court.
Conditions of Employment
At-will employment, serving at the pleasure of Washington County Common Pleas Court Judges.
Criminal background check through the State of Ohio and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to communicate effectively with Judges, attorneys and other individuals and agencies.
Ability to operate standard office equipment and multitask in email, CourtView, Excel, Word or Work Perfect programs.
Professional appearance suitable for a Court atmosphere
