General Position Description:
Provide a series of routine and complex clerical and secretarial functions in providing administrative services for the Sheriff’s Office Civil Division and other Sheriff’s Office Administrative staff. Assist Evidence manager with the administration of evidence room.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Perform cash register duties, including deposit and checkbook maintenance, for a variety of civil process services provided by the Sheriff’s Office.
Perform numerous clerical and secretarial duties for a variety of individuals in the office.
Prepare and maintain all civil papers according to industry standards, State statute, and Federal requirements.
Assist with the administration of the Evidence and Property Room at the Sheriff’s Office including checking evidence lockers and receiving, releasing and disposing of all evidence and safe keeping/found property according to Sheriff’s Office Policy and Procedures, State and Federal Law.
Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience:
Two years working with the public, two years office setting experience, combination of education and experience could waive specific requirement.
Tools, Equipment, or Machines Required to Operate:
Computer, printers, copy machines, FAX, phone, cash register, typewriter, adding machine, tape recorder.
Physical Requirements:
Physical Requirements: Walk, stand, sit, type, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools, reach with hands and arms, talk, listen, hear, read, see, lift, bend.
Lifting: 25 pounds
Exposure to Elements: Normal office conditions.
Handling of Dangerous Equipment: None
Risk of Assault or Injury: May receive verbal assault from angry citizens, minimal risk working in the law enforcement environment.
Hiring Range:
$19.00 - $20.91 per hour depending upon experience.
