As the city begins its budgeting process for 2023 , two town hall meetings are planned on June 15 and July 27 , at City Council Chambers from 5:30 p . m . to 6:30 p . m . for residents to share their ideas for next year’s budget with staff .  
   The meeting will begin with a brief introduction on how the city budgets . This overview will provide an explanation of the city’s various strategic plan goals and how the city will budget based on outcomes .  By prioritizing desired outcomes , the City can be more responsive to changing economic conditions . When revenues are up , we can expand services and invest in innovative programs . When revenues are down , that prioritized list of services allows us to focus limited resources on the areas that matter most to the community .  
   City staff will poll residents in attendance to gauge how the community would like to see the city prioritize its funds by strategic plan goal in 2023 . Residents will be able to ask questions and make comments about the upcoming budget to city staff toward the end of the meeting .   
   “This information and feedback from the community is helpful for us to know what their priorities are , and where they want to see the city spend its dollars based on the goals outlined in the Strategic Plan , ” said Budget and Strategic Plan Officer Devon Schmidt . “That feedback will be shared with the departments and council for budget considerations . ”
